LOVE WOVEN IN DANCE
31st Danube Carnival Gala
The Danube Carnival reaches its grand finale each year with a spectacular gala at the enchanting Margaret Island Open‑Air Stage. In this fabulous setting, nearly 300 performers from Hungarian and international dance companies come together for a single, unforgettable evening. The stage also welcomes exceptional young talents from the FolKid Children and Youth Folk Art Festival, including the Angyalföldi Vadrózsa, Tálentum, and Alba Regia Ensembles.
Love Woven in Dance is a vibrant, emotionally rich folkdance production that evokes the many faces of love through the rhythms, melodies, and traditions of the world’s peoples.
Artists from the Duna Art Ensemble and the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble are joined by international dance and music ensembles arriving for the carnival from Bulgaria, Brazil, Poland, Spain, Slovakia, and Turkmenistan, each bringing their own cultural voice to the artistic cooperation. Together, they show how love weaves through national traditions and how dance becomes a common language that transcends borders and generations.
This gala is also a tribute to the love of dance itself. As the music and movements of diverse cultures intertwine, they give life to a universal emotion. The encounters unfolding on stage highlight both the enduring strength of folk traditions and the timeless, unifying magic of love.
